Job Description
Responsible for operationally leading and executing new migrations/activities to GBS Manila (GME and GMIO entities) from Global Ledger Perspective:
a. Monthly closing and reporting as per US GAAP
b. General Ledger Account Reconciliation excellence
c. Reconcile third party documents to expense report system activity
Perform General Ledger functions; assure accuracy, timeliness, and conformity with professional accounting standards and best practices in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Identify, interpret and analyze potential accounting risks and issues
Interacts with internal/external related parties (impacted Business Units, Global Controller's Team, Global Finance Teams, etc.)
Identify, lead and implement process improvements to drive quality accounting and compliance within their respective area:
a. Frequent contact with others outside of work group to accomplish tasks
b. Lead or actively participate in Special Projects (including Peer Review and pillar activities)
c. Responsible for identifying and documenting process gaps to moderate standard financial analysis
d. Responsible for the day- to-day general ledger accounting and reconciliation, financial reporting and analysis for assigned functional areas.
e. Research and resolve Business Unit(s) inquiries for assigned functional areas.
f. Prepare Manual Journal Entries adjustment when business needs.
g. Responsible for performing special projects to improve process efficiency and performance Projects as assigned by Management.
h. Demonstrate intermediate understanding / working knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls, and apply them.
i. Investigate and report to the Manager any inconsistencies or improprieties.
j. Identify non-value added processes within the team and seeks solutions.
Identify and execute internal controls, SOX compliance and financial procedures
Partner with Finance to determine accounting implications of transactions and perform analytical analyses to utilize when making all material business decisions
Assist with internal and external financial reporting, ensuring quality, and administering strict timeline
Evaluate current accounting practices and policies and drive continuous improvement
Research and interpret new accounting standards and brainstorm how each applies to GM as well as comply with external reporting requirements
