Job Description:
Job Purpose In 2-3 sentences, please provide a summary of the purpose and objective of the job.
The job participates in the initial drafting of the policy provisions and other ancillary forms for new or existing products for Individual (traditional and VUL) and Group Insurance to be offered by SLOCPI and SLGFI.
Rendering of policy forms including enhancement of all application forms - for Individual such as Regular App, SIO and GIO as well as for Group, and other forms from different departments of SLOCPI and SLGFI like Claims, PPA, PPC, Client Centers, Medical as well as from SLAMCI. Enhancement to forms may include integration, simplification, incorporation of new requirements from the regulatory bodies in relation to AMLA, FATCA and DPA among others.
Takes charge in preparing the product/policy forms approval submission set for uploading in the Insurance Commission Online Submission Portal. Ensures that all documents submitted are complete and facilitates the payment of necessary filing fees.
Major Accountabilities
Identify 5-6 major accountabilities. Describe these accountabilities by what is to be accomplished, how and why. Include the approximate percentage of time spent on each accountability. Use action verbs to begin each statement. Avoid the use of acronyms.
Provides product management and pricing support as follows:
Participates in the development/revision of contract provisions, application forms, ancillary forms and other documents related to product launching
The recommendee should be able to analyze how to effectively develop required forms - either to enhance existing forms or to create from scratch. Familiarity to existing forms would be necessary
Devises methodology to assign form numbers considering future developments
Facilitates routing of the draft documents for review by all concerned parties
Takes lead in the review and sign-off of systems implementation related documents and perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of policy contracts.
Takes charge in the preparation of the documents for submission to the Insurance Commission and coordinates with IC Actuarial Division about the submissions. Handles drafting of the cover letter, checklist and evaluation sheet, deed of undertaking, legal certification, actuarial certification and summary of changes, and oversees completion of all other documents required for the submission.
Attends to additional requirements that may be required by IC after the initial submission.
Organizes, updates and safekeeps the library of all policy forms that have been approved by the Insurance Commission for easy accessibility within the Department and oversees the preparation of the approved documents of products/policy forms for SLGFI to be handed over to bank partners RCBC and CTBC for their submission to BSP.
Oversees the maintenance of the branding databases.
Specialized Knowledge/Skills Describe the level of technical/professional knowledge and key skills needed to successfully perform the work of the job.
