Dedicated to scaling its operations, the client seeks to enhance its support team by hiring skilled virtual legal professionals.About the Role: The Accounts Payable Specialist manages the firm's outgoing payments, processes invoices, and ensures timely and accurate payments to vendors and employees. This role also involves maintaining vendor relationships, preparing monthly A/P reports, and assisting with month-end close and audits.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Payment Management: Prepare and issue payments via checks, electronic transfers (ACH), and other methods, ensuring timely payment of bills.
Software Proficiency:.
Utilize accounting and firm software (e.g., Quickbooks, Juris, etc.) and other programs for efficient management of accounts payable.
Communication:.
Maintain clear and effective communication with internal stakeholders (e.g., attorneys, staff) and external vendors.
Ad Hoc Tasks:.
Perform other duties as assigned, such as assisting with special projects or other accounting tasks.
Qualifications:Experience
2+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is a plus.
Key competencies
Attention to detail and organizational skills ensuring compliance with financial policies.
Technological proficiency, particularly with legal software.
The ability to negotiate and build relationships, strong interpersonal skills, along with a proactive approach to managing payables.
