Job Description
Balsam International is looking for an Accounting Specialist who will be responsible for overseeing all accounting-related activities of the Regional Operating Headquarters (ROHQ) in the Philippines and making sure that they are accurate, compliant, and done in a timely manner. You will liaise and provide support to the internal global Finance and Accounting team as well as our external accounting partner and provide insights and updates as necessary. Finally, you will ensure that all accounting related practices are reviewed, documented, and improved in a regular manner.
What you'll be doing:
Financial Reporting
Create internal financial reports and tax computations and match this against submissions by external accounting team.
Review and supports the external accounting team in the preparation of reports and tax filings.
Check accuracy of monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports.
Support the parent company-accounting team in reconciling intercompany transactions/balances.
Finance Administration
Process payments and provide pertinent files to vendors.
Monitor payables to ensure timely payments to vendors.
Analyze and report to management the summary of monthly, quarterly, and year-end expenses.
Company Taxation and Reporting
Prepare and file company tax reports in an accurate and timely manner.
Review Tax Returns and ensure timely compliance with statutory requirements.
Respond and work with external legal team for tax assessments, reviews from the Bureau, if any.
Audit
Coordinates with external accounting vendors and prepares audit schedules for external year-end audit.
Anticipate BIR and ROHQ Audit schedules.
Reconciliation of accounts to ensure that the company is audit ready.
Assist in payroll review and audit.
Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
What you bring to the table:
Bachelor's degree in Accountancy
With active and valid Certified Public Accountant license
With 2-3 years of significant experience in accounting, finance, and audit.
Experience in ROHQ Accounting and practices a plus.
At least 2 years' experience in using QuickBooks.
Knowledge of basic computing and accounting principles.
Above average computer skills, including the use of Office suites (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS Teams).
Proficiency in MS Excel (Assessment will be conducted).
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate to individuals on all levels.
Well-developed time management and multi-tasking skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Proactive attitude and learner's mind set (asks questions, gives feedback, clarifies potential issues, anticipates audits, etc.)
Ability to independently figure out problems that arise before seeking out help.
Capacity to adapt to changing environments, directions, and priorities.
Location: The Accounting Specialist position is a remote working position for Balsam International Unlimited Philippine ROHQ in Manila. Team members in the Philippines are located within Metro Manila, Cavite, Rizal, Bulacan or certain parts of Laguna only (Biñan, Cabuyao, Calamba, Los Baños, San Pedro and Santa Rosa).
