About the Accounting Close Associate (Intangible Fixed Assets) Role:
In this role, you will ensure all transactions are correctly accounted for and provide a golden source financial information data set upon which all internal and external reporting is based, and ensure the integrity of reportable financial information up to, and including, CAT 3 release and the operations of the revenue, cost, local and group close processes. You will be part of an end-to-end process solution for intangible asset (software capitalisation) doing capitalisation of assets, amortisation, reconciliation of project balances to identify amounts for capitalisation, impairment and capital reporting.
As an Accounting Close Associate (Intangible Fixed Assets), you will be responsible for assisting the team lead in researching and project managing the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) 16 Leases standard implementation for the bank. You will also be expected to assist in both the preparation and review of restatement disclosures and workings for revised financial statements as a result of opening balance adjustments in connection with IFRS 16, as well as provide group wide training material on new or amended IFRS statements, and on problem areas and relevant industry developments.
In this role, you will be expected to develop and contribute group-wide accounting policies with respect to IFRS 16 leases. You will also perform and review finance and accounting process but not limited to cost calculations, cost bookings, accounts payable invoicing/settlement, fixed asset processing, analytical review, reconciliation, MRP substantiation. Similarly, you will also handle direct cost-related queries and recommend resolution of issues, as well as perform sense checks or self-review of process outputs to detect irregularities, error or variances. You will collaborate with stakeholders and other teams for efficient execution of end-to-end operations through engagement calls.

Partner with peers to ensure all deadlines are met within acceptable timelines

Drive resolution of critical issues, and recommends solution to management with potential financial, regulatory, and reputational impact
Provide direction - build-out of knowledge strategy for function supported
To succeed in this Accounting Close Associate (Intangible Fixed Assets) role, you must possess a good understanding of software capitalisation doing capitalisation of assets, amortisation, reconciliation of project balances to identify amounts for capitalisation, impairment, capital reporting, analysis of processing intangible assets, first computation, and advise teams of internal developed software. You will assess the investment, calculation and analysis on the application and provide that analysis to concerned teams. Majority if not 100% of your intangible asset exposure is software capitalisation instead of tangible assets.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor's degree preferably in either Accountancy, Banking, Business Management, Economics, or other finance-related discipline
Experience with either an auditing firm, bank, shared service, business process outsourcing or finance-related industry
Proven track record in people management, strong stakeholder management and project management
knowledge of IFRS 16 Leases. Knowledge of SAP, Essbase, Cognos, Ariba on Demand and other ERP systems is an advantage
Ability to have an analytical mindset to solve problems and recommend solutions in the process
Ability to make sound decisions
Ability to work in virtual global teams and in a matrix organisation
Ability to work in a multicultural organisation to manage stakeholders across locations
Experience in end-to-end accounting processes from financial services, BPO, or audit industry is beneficial
Excellent communication skills, fluency in English (written/verbal)
