An exciting Accountant job has just become available at a solar energy start-up venture coming from one of the leaders in the oil and gas business globally, based in Bonifacio Global City.
About the Accountant Role:
This position leads the accounting and finance team for the Philippines business. The primary purpose of the role is to ensure accurate and timely financial and statutory reporting, and that all local and IFRS requirements are met, guaranteeing the quality and effectiveness of accounting practices, with a focus on continuous improvement. The role will be reporting directly to the Regional Finance Manager based in Singapore. Initial contract duration is contemplated at 12 months. Depending on performance, the candidate may be offered a longer-term contract at the conclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure timely and accurate closing of finance and accounting activities yearly for audit and report to Singapore
Coordinate the completion of all statutory returns such as VAT, withholding taxes, income tax return and statutory accounts
Coordinate both internal and external audits, and responsible for building and maintaining relationships advisers
Prepare and/or review journals and balance sheet (including bank) reconciliations; Periodic assessment of completeness of accruals and prepayments
Perform risk analysis, review, and provide recommendations for business process changes necessary to address risks of financial misstatement; Work with management, operations and finance teams on implementing the changes
Coordinate with regional finance team on master data: Vendor Master Data Management (VMDM) and Customer Master Data Management (CMDM)
Ensure that adequate internal controls are in place to safeguard the company's assets and ensure accuracy and reliability of financial records
To succeed in this role, you must have at least three years of progressive experience in accounting and finance in a medium to large MNC.
Key Requirements:
CPA is a must
Experience in a Big 4 firm is a plus
Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office, knowledge in Microsoft Dynamics a plus
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Able to operate well and independently
Must have strong leadership, communication, problem-solving and presentation skills
Must be highly organised, detail-oriented and has good time management skills
Must have a conducive WFH set up
