We are a boutique firm specialising in high-level Bookkeeping and Financial Accounting in Australia and are experts within the Xero accounting platform. Our purpose is to help small-medium businesses grow as we prepare meaningful financial accounts and improve the financial literacy of business owners while working closely with their Accountants to ensure that the Australian accounting and statutory requirements are met in a timely manner.

Your role
In this role you will work with businesses of different sizes, in various industries as part of an accounting team, ensuring that their accounts in Xero are kept up to date day-to-day. As you get to know each business, you can apply your understanding of their numbers to highlight insights to help the business owners. You will also work with different cloud-based apps used to run their businesses and learn how each one integrates with accounting workflows.
Your core responsibilities
Work with multiple businesses to prepare their accounts in Xero
Enter bills and receipts, schedule, and process supplier payments
Processing of payroll on Xero including superannuation requirements
Perform bank reconciliations for overseas and Australian bank accounts
Month/Quarter end close - processing of general journals, accruals, standing journals, and general ledger adjustments
Completion of monthly/quarterly Balance Sheet Reconciliations including inter-company assets and loans in line with the client agreements in a timely manner
Prepare Australian compliance reporting such as Business Activity Statements (BAS), or Superannuation Guarantee Charge (SGC) statements including reconciliation of ATO Integrated Client Accounts
Review accounts to assess business performance, and prepare management reports
Stay up to date with Australian accounting requirements and changes to our industry
As an Accountant/Bookkeeper you are someone with the following attributes:

What experience are we looking for?
2-3 years of Australian Experience is critical
2-5 years experience as a qualified accountant/bookkeeper
Experience using Xero, HubDoc
Perfect and excellent written and spoken English
Willing to work Australian hours with some flexibility
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Applications: Excel, Word, Outlook
