What are we looking for?
Skills Required:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Proven experience (5+ years) in financial management, accounting, or related roles, preferably in a startup environment.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in financial software Xero and Microsoft Excel (or Google Sheets).
Experience in preparing and submitting tax returns, with a solid understanding of tax laws and regulations.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and generate actionable insights.
Nice to Have:
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and interface with external stakeholders.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting and analysis.
What will you do?
You will be responsible for overseeing financial processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth trajectory.
Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
Record all financial transactions promptly and accurately in the appropriate accounting software.
Generate customer invoices and track accounts receivable, following up on overdue payments as necessary.
Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
Prepare and submit accurate and timely tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and any other applicable taxes.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements related to financial reporting and taxation.
Prepare financial analyses, performance metrics, and KPIs to evaluate business performance and identify areas for improvement.
Generate ad-hoc financial reports and presentations for senior management and board meetings.
