What this job involves:
Performing excellent design projects
You'll perform design activities coming from the offshore team and client and make sure that everything is on track within the appropriate budget. To ensure high-quality work, you'll need to collect clients' requirements and fully understand them. You'll then build proper design management procedures that match the clients' every want and need, and closely work together with the design team to stave off any gaps or mix-ups. You'll plan and drive report meetings with clients and relevant government authorities. Part of your job scope is to drive and manage value engineering-from beginning to end. You'll make sure that you coordinate with designers to string the design program along with the procurement. In this role, answering questions such as, "Which specific hold points need specific client decisions during design development?"; "How can I better manage and keep track of design changes?" and "What can I do to ensure smooth handover?" will help you develop and implement a sound game plan.
Pushing things in the right direction
In this role, you'll need to be able to face tough design challenges head on. You'll need to out a practical design and match master schedules that work. You will keep an eye on the design team's performance and make sure that they're up to speed toward successful project completion. On top of these, you'll be responsible for spotting delay risks and warning the project manager in advance, so you both can find a way to set things in order.
Your tasks may include the following:
Provide schematic drawings and generate accurate, detailed and to scale drawings and layout plans based on Client's requirement
Use a variety of drawing software programmes to create designs in 2D and 3D models. 3Ds will also be in a supporting role for clients to visualize our proposals before building them. e.g AutoCAD, Sketchup, Revit Architecture.
Present working drawings for use in all stages of the project, tender, manufacture/construction and installation
Attend meetings with consultants (architect, structural, mechanical and electrical engineer) to understand their design and local authority requirement
Ensure drawings are compliant with local building regulations and engineering principles and health and safety standards and protocols
Conduct site visits and surveys and research, if applicable
Ensure proper documentation/ drawings control inclusive of drawings submitted by other sub-contractors
Calculate costs and apply knowledge of materials and engineering principles to check the feasibility of manufacture and construction of the product

An active practitioner
You have a degree in architectural, civil engineering, MEP engineering, or related discipline or field, or a mix of formal education and work experience of at least 2 years spent on design, construction or project management. You should also be well-versed in design planning.
A business expert with administrative skills
To up your game as a design professional, you'll need a strong technical background and expertise in
MS Project, MS Excel, MS Word and/or other scheduling software. You'll also need to possess at least 2 years of AutoCAD and other 3D software to give yourself the competitive edge.
A confidence builder
