Role Summary:  
 
The senior workplace counselor is responsible for helping employees overcome challenges to be successful both in the workplace and in their personal lives. The role will encompass the following responsibilities:
Workplace Counselling (Individual)
Group Counselling/Therapy
Support Programs
Special/High-Risk cases referrals
Impact Measurement and Research
Qualifications: 
Registered Psychologist or Guidance Counselor (should have passed the relevant Licensure Examination) or Registered social worker
2 to 5 years of professional counseling experience 
2+ years of experience developing and implementing treatment plans
1 to 2 years of experience in preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, seminars, and workshops
Knowledge and experience in case management
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
Experience working with vulnerable populations
Experience with long-term counseling/engagement with clients
Key Role Responsibilities and Activities:
 
Workplace Counselling (Individual)
Conduct individual counseling as per guidelines/process flow established by Veritacore Phillippines
Works with management to evaluate employees with workplace performance issues and contribute to customized performance improvement plans
Provides one-on-one counseling to employees using appropriate modalities including (but not restricted to) motivational interviewing, CBT
Aligns employee behaviors to reflect the company's core values (in particular Integrity and Responsibility)
Specific focus area for senior workplace counselor includes:
Complex cases (where behaviors are not improving) and medium to high-risk cases
Personal counseling provided to senior staff - in particular Team Leaders, Department Heads etc
Advising managers and supervisors (Team Leads) on how to deal with challenging employees and workplace stress through recommendations regarding coping skills and strategies
Provide regular updates to management regarding progress of the employee in adopting new and helpful behaviours and mindset
Debrief with relevant internal and external staff regarding individual counseling
Implement other modalities as per recommendation from counseling experts
Workplace Counselling (Group)
Facilitate group counseling/therapy for multiple employees that need additional support in dealing with either workplace or domestic issues
Conduct group counseling as per guidelines/process flow established by Veritacore
Debrief with relevant internal and external staff regarding group counseling
Implement other modalities as per recommendation from counseling experts
Specific focus area for senior workplace counselor includes:
High-Risk support group
Internal family systems
Narrative Therapy
Supervision of Workplace Counsellors
Undertake session reviews with other counseling staff in both Cebu and Kathmandu
Provide coaching on improving their effectiveness in counseling
Develop practice protocols and procedures for other counseling staff so that they have a structured approach to counseling
Monitor other counseling staff during counseling sessions
Facilitate Support Programs
Implement support programs and activities that promote mental and emotional health in the workplace. These include Learning to Learn, Willpower, Managing My Money
Conduct post implementation review of support program sessions and overall program effectiveness
Recommend modifications to existing programs to improve effectiveness
Provide feedback on new support programs that will be developed by the company
Develop new Support Programs
Conduct research on new modalities that can assist our staff in resolving personal and interpersonal issues (e.g. narrative therapy, family systems)
Create support programs (content, delivery method, procedures and guidelines)
Train other counselors to deploy the program
Implement new support programs via deployment in operations
Support for Special or High-Risk Cases
Facilitate referral of employees to 3 rd party organizations when it is identified that the employee has complex needs and/or is in a situation of self-harm
Provide updates to management and recommendations regarding changes to working conditions
Liaise with 3 rd party professionals regarding the treatment of the employee and facilitate/support the employee throughout the treatment process
Impact Measurement and Research
Conduct semi-annual company-wide health and well-being surveys
Validate survey responses to ensure accuracy of results
Report survey outcomes to senior management
Support research activity undertaken by the company (including engagement with external parties)
Approximate Workload Breakdown
2 to 3 sessions per day (including high-risk cases)
Group sessions between 1 to 3 times a week
Support programs 1 to 3 times a week
Development and enhancement of support programs (min 2 hours to 3 hours per day)
