MV Narrative is a newbuild residential ship operated Storylines. The boat is currently under construction at Brodosplit Shipyard (in Split Croatia). The ship's inauguration is planned for 2025-Q1.
We're looking for a Procurement and Logistics Senior Manager that has extensive experience in new ship building. He/She will be reporting to the Operation and Procurement Officer. To fill this role, you need to be based in Asia. Initially, you will be working remotely. Eventually, you will be traveling all over Asia to meet with vendors and inspect supplies. You'll be responsible for managing procurement and logistics for dry docks and special projects and performing a variety of supply chain tasks, ensuring timely and cost-effective transport and delivery of materials and cargo.
You will be spearheading the entire department building it from the ground up.
Duties and Responsibilities
Plans, manages, and publishes worldwide logistics shipping, loading and delivery schedule for dry, docks, new-builds and other special projects
Responsible for reviewing/driving the category management business case, identifying business requirements an assembling all necessary information (e.g. performs a rigorous analysis of business, supply chain and supplier data to generate options and document a strategic sourcing plan that includes planning, negotiations with suppliers, contract execution and implementation of source recommendations).
Leads and oversees a group of buyers that provide the business with the necessary support and see to it that corporate and business goals are achieved.
Establishes strong relationship management with important suppliers and engages in strategic, high-level negotiation with them.
Develops and implements a sourcing strategy to lower costs and reduce supply chain risk.
Controls the creation of contracts and associated bids, strategically planning upcoming purchases, and assuring the best supplier performance.
Creates and implements into reality best practice purchasing vision, policies, processes, and procedures to help and enhance corporate performance.
Ensure smooth transition of agreements to procurement team to load pricing for order execution.
Delivers results to performance goals and measurements. The role is responsible for leading and delivering hard savings targets as well as cost avoidance targets. Also responsible for driving supplier diversity and sustainability goals. These measurements include initiatives lead at the brand level and ensuring regional or global initiatives are completed that impact the brand.
Ensures operational requirements in terms of pricing, quality, and delivery goals, which includes the selection and de-selection of suppliers as well as the assessment and rationalization of supply chain solutions.
This role will be responsible for developing a negotiation plan for each initiative in conjunction with key stakeholders.
Evaluates the difficulties the company is facing and takes steps to reduce risks and grow
About you
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business or other applicable.
At least 5 years New Ship Building Experience
At least 7 years in the Cruise Line industry
Strong negotiation skills developed through sourcing / procurement environment experience
Ability to train staff in processes
Ability to create presentations
Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and Holidays
English reading and writing proficiency
Ability to prioritize and work in fast paced environment
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work in a Team environment
Willing to assist in order areas were needed
Ability to communicate effectively with team members in a professional and courteous manner
Must exhibit integrity, fairness and professionalism while interacting with other
Preferred:
CPSM or CPM preferred but not required.
