Our client is an established, client centric business advisory and accounting firm that provides superior service in advising in small to medium sized businesses, super funds, and individuals across South-West Australia. They provide accounting, bookkeeping, Tax, BAS Compliance, and business advisory services.
Our client is in need of a Tax Accountant that has solid knowledge and experience in preparation of Tax Compliance and financial statements for a wide variety of clients based in Australia business setting.
This role is suitable for someone who has the appropriate financial and tax management qualifications and experience, is willing to learn and work in a different work context and is willing to take an alternative career route. So, if this is you, read on!
The key responsibilities for this role are:
Preparing and Reviewing income tax returns and financial statements for a wide variety of clients
Guide and mentor junior team members
Work with the Practice Manager to ensure the firm meets its targets and clients are responded to promptly
Financial reporting and taxation services for business clients including companies and trusts
Ensure jobs are completed efficiently and effectively by meeting technical standards and deadlines
Providing business advice and support to clients
Providing technical tax leadership and quality control for the team
Building relationships with clients and assisting with professional advice as well as attending to client enquiries in a timely fashion
General preparation in relation to PAYG and GST matters and liaising with the ATO
In order to be considered for this role, you must have the following key attributes, skills and strengths:
Experience
Minimum of 3years' experience in an Australian accounting firm preparing and reviewing business tax returns working in a public practice accounting firm including Trusts, Companies, Partnerships, Sole Traders and Self Managed Super Funds (SMSF)
Should have a good knowledge and understanding of ASIC compliance
Experience in working with a variety of clients
Guide and mentor with junior team members
Qualifications
Minimum of 3years' experience in an Australian accounting firm preparing and reviewing business tax returns working in a public practice accounting firm including Trusts, Companies, Partnerships, Sole Traders and Self Managed Super Funds (SMSF)
Understanding of ASIC compliance
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and being capable of setting priorities, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
A high level of initiative, self-motivation and ability to resolve problems
Proficiency in Xero Tax and general bookkeeping software Xero, MYOB and Quickbooks Advanced computer software skills, including Excel and other financial software and tools for reporting and analysis purposes
Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce or equivalent is a plus
CA / CPA Qualified not necessary but will be a plus
A desire to achieve a high level of client satisfaction
