We are looking for an experienced expat US tax accountant to join our team where the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing US expat tax returns for individuals who live and work outside of the United States. They will also research and apply complex tax laws and regulations that apply to expats. Additionally, they will communicate with clients to understand their tax needs and ensure that their returns are accurate and compliant.
The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and attention to detail. They will also be comfortable with technology and using various software systems. Additionally, they will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Description:
Prepare US expat tax returns for individuals who live and work outside of the United States.
Research and apply complex tax laws and regulations that apply to expats.
Communicate with clients to understand their tax needs and ensure that their returns are accurate and compliant.
Stay up-to-date on changes in tax laws and regulations that affect expats.
Manage own schedule and workload as an independent contractor or an employee of a tax firm.
Utilize state-of-the-art systems and technology for tax preparation.
Assist clients with tax planning and compliance matters related to their US and foreign tax status.
Represent clients before the IRS and other taxing authorities.
Provide tax advice on a variety of issues, such as foreign investment, cross-border transactions, and estate planning.
Review and update client's tax records and information.
Prepare and file tax returns on behalf of clients.
Stay up-to-date on tax laws and regulations.
Provide tax planning and compliance advice to clients.
Represent clients before the IRS and other taxing authorities.
Advise clients on tax implications of their financial transactions.
Prepare tax projections and forecasts.
Manage tax risk for clients.
Liaise with other professionals, such as lawyers and accountants, on behalf of clients.
Qualifications:
CPA, EA, or JD (with LLM in Taxation) with at least three years of experience in US expat tax preparation.
Specific experience with additional forms and schedules required for expats, such as Form 2555, Form 1116, and Form 8865.
Experience in business tax preparation is a plus.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Comfortable with technology and using various software systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Fluency in multiple languages is a plus.
