Job Description Summary:
The design systems UX/UI designer helps champion design systems and design culture. They leverage human-centered design principles every step of the way to craft tokens, components, detailed functional wireframes, user scenarios and flows, templates, and prototypes to the highest possible standards.
They ensure that standards are in place by documenting style guides, component guidelines, and design specifications for designers and developers. In line with this, they enrich documentations using design, logic, and interaction notes, as well as creating interactive prototypes to demonstrate a component's behavior and functionality.
As a human-centered design practitioner, they plan and execute research and usability studies through in-person and remote qualitative tools to further understand users needs and pain points in order to continuously improve our products. They also analyze data from market research, and customer feedback to inform the creation and optimization of the products UX, and improve the team's design workflows.
Job Description:
Intentionally crafts tokens, components detailed functional wireframes, user scenarios, flows, templates, and prototypes based on best practices for a wide-range of use cases and platforms
Takes a human-centered design approach and rapidly tests and iterates current designs
Facilitates the product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping, and user-testing experiences for digital products
Ensures that standards are in place by documenting style guides, component guidelines, and design specifications for designers and developers
Identifies design problems and devises elegant solutions
Makes strategic design decisions, supporting the design system and user-experience decisions related to core, and new functions and features
Has confidence to ask relevant questions, takes risks, and champions new ideas
Analyzes data from market research, and customer feedback to inform the creation and optimization of the products UX, and improve the team's design workflows
Collaborates with fellow designers and developers for feedback and handoff
Keeps track of advancements in UI/UX design, technologies and applications, as well as industry best practices
Competencies
A bachelor's degree in any of the following: Information Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or any related field
At least 2+ years of relevant work experience in creating and implementing UX strategy, UI design, or related work
A strong grasp of product thinking and ecosystems, systems thinking, interaction, visual design and customer empathy
A strong technical background and experience in design to development handoff
Familiar with design systems
Advanced experience in creating user journeys/flows, wireframes, and prototypes
Preferably has experience in UX testing and design research and analysis
Design craftsmanship and quality assurance
Strong communication skills
Proficiency in using Figma and FigJam or any similar design platform and the Adobe Creative Suite (mainly Photoshop or Illustrator)
Experience in basic animation is a plus
