Key Responsibilities
Processing of payments for cash margins and interest payouts
Fails management, investigation, and escalation.
Identification and follow through with Market specific settlements teams/agents and middle office teams to resolve breaks and fails.
Serve as main contact of the team to requestors and senior management. Answer emails pertaining to those relationships and demonstrate ability to resolve queries quickly and accurately
Tasked with completing ad-hoc reporting as necessary such as the preparation of reports, system extracts, etc
Perform EOD process to ensure all deliverables were met timely and accurately and that exceptions are appropriately noted
Attend and drive internal and external client meetings, to ensure client needs and expectations are consistently met or exceeded; ensure resolution of follow up items
Identify and action priority items within appropriate timeframes; Escalate issues as necessary; relentlessly resolve aged items.
Ensure that procedures are documented and that the documentation is updated periodically
Identify requirements for additional controls
Identify opportunities for process efficiency & implement in a controlled manner
Exhibit effective communication with key stakeholders
Exercise good judgment and degree of confidentiality
Key Skills Required
Generally 5 years and above experience in operations or related function
Attention to detail
Demonstrate a strong Control and Risk awareness to identify, escalate, control and mitigate
Self motivated
Good communication skills
Must be able to lead, manage and motivate the teams.
Must be able to work under pressure and make accurate decisions in stressful situations
Good time management
Analytical skills
Financial services experience with an interest in securities and investments
Ability to work under pressure due to cut-off times and volumes
Initiative, root cause analysis and problem solving skills
Initiative to deal effectively with unfamiliar situations
Strong Customer Service skills
Ability to work both independently and as a team in a fast paced production environment
Flexibility of operating hours to include overtime, holidays, and weekend testing
Experience (nice to have but not essential)
Understanding of UK, European and US markets
Securities Knowledge, preferably settlements experience
Technical knowledge of securities transaction processing
