As a member of the engineering team, you will deliver robust and efficient test engineering practice as directed by business constraints while respecting controls. As the test engineer, you are expected to:Automation of Functional and User testing while meeting quality criteria and project constraintsAutomation using both GUI and API's as provided by the applicationsAutomation of application configurations using DB scripts and any other scripting toolsAutomation using various tools like selenium etc.Define test cases for automation using test engineering techniques like defining corner test cases etcDefine and execute functional test cases (and test plan, test strategy)Explore and try different methods to improve productivity and efficiency of the teamInfluence the direction of the overall architecture especially on quality and testingUnderstand the public and private cloud concepts especially compute, network, storage and dataCritical attention to detail about quality, code, troubleshooting, efficiency and designDevelop and maintain standards of software & system test automation, components, and release managementIdentify and reduce technical debtBe able to communicate effectively - verbal and writtenBe able to work alone or with others as needs dictateTake ownership of all assigned task and challengesBe proactive in promoting 'Best Practices'Be available for out of hours support as requiredMajor ChallengesNurturing a strong engineering culture and influencing Test practice across engineering practiceEstimating and delivering to estimatesAdhering to standards and guidelinesDecision Making/ Delegating AuthorityDesign and implementation of test automation and testing practiceAssessment of work involvedTest & Code quality and completenessPlatform implementation quality and completenessService reliability, restoration method and problem resolutionKnowledge and Skill RequirementDemonstrable deep and applied knowledge of the following:Minimum of 5 years of work experience in software testing.Excellent knowledge in testing skills (Functional testing, design test plan and test strategy, writing test cases, executing test cases, Bug Life cycle)Good level in SQL/databaseExcellent Java programming and debugging skillsknowledge of Oracle, Linux, Jenkins, GIT, RESTKnowledge on Build Management ToolDesigning and developing Test automation frameworksDeveloping automated UI tests using SeleniumManaging and executing tests using TestNGExperience in an Agile/Scrum/Dev/Ops teamExperience with E2E testingGood Communication Skill and Team Player
