JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary
Responsible for software testing design, planning, scripting and execution for a variety of key customer-facing and internal applications.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviews functional requirements and system documentation, data diagrams and flow charts, to become familiar with the software under test and any other software related to it
- Designs, develops and reviews test plans/procedures and test cases/scripts to verify that developed applications function according to user requirements and system specifications, and address business and technical use cases
- Acquires or creates test data required for testing
- Sets up the required test beds (hardware, software and network)
- Conducts smoke, functional, sanity, usability, stress, regression, negative, integration, and other types of tests on applications based on established test procedures and cases
- Ensures that applications integrate seamlessly with other related systems
- Recommends system improvements or corrections to application developers
- Prepares and reviews report on results of testing
- Monitors logged defects up to closure
- Reports work progress and any problems faced to the Test Lead or Project Manager as required
- Ensures that developed systems generate and store correct and complete data
- Provides inputs to the team in order to improve the test process
- Supports operations by analyzing and resolving problems encountered in live sites
- Participates in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution
- Executes test cases and build/script new tools for performing testing/validation function
Job Specifications
- Graduate of IT or computer-related course
- Over 5 years related experience
- Knowledgeable in prevalent operating systems (Windows, Linux) and programming languages (.NET, C#, Java, SQL scripting)
