We are looking for an Associate Technical Communicator/Writer to produce high-quality content that contributes to the overall success of our products. You will join a team who works collaboratively with developers, quality engineers, and product managers, to make our products easier to use.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Development of concise, clear, and accurate technical information, primarily written, specific to user and audience needs.
Development and management of topic-based, reusable, modular content (concept, task, and reference) in XML (multi-format publishing and multi-channel distribution).
Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the technical content requirements
Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
Management of individual projects (plans, timelines, milestones, progress) and stakeholders.
Provide technical support and customer service in response to end-user information needs.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of business processes, competencies, tools, standards, and best practices.
Create tutorials to help internal and external end customers use a variety of software packages.
Requirements:
An expert in written and verbal communications, a Technical Communicator/Writer will also require aptitude in technical subject matter and project management. The ideal candidate will possess:
A recognized degree in a Communications discipline (PR, Marketing, English Literature, Journalism) or in an Engineering/Technical program with equivalent related technical communications work experience.
4-6 years' proven work experience in developing technical content for software
Outstanding written and verbal English-language communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to formally manage multiple projects and firm deadlines.
Strong team interaction, collaboration, and negotiation skills, the ability to work with geographically dispersed teams, and an independent initiative to engage with project stakeholders.
A self-starting attitude with strong motivation to deliver accurate, timely user documentation under minimal supervision, and in fast-paced development cycles.
An aptitude/interest in technical/scientific subjects with ability to critically analyze complex subjects and writing.
Advanced ability with desktop applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and experience with industry-standard content authoring tools. Experience developing content in topic-based, structured .xml and component content management systems (CCMS) is beneficial but not essential.
Superb attention to detail.
Experience in the cybersecurity industry is an asset.
