New Energy Nexus (www.newenergynexus.com) is an international organization that supports clean energy entrepreneurs with funds, business acceleration and access to networks. We operate programs in the USA, China, India, Uganda, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Philippines.
With the goal to massively scale the training, upskilling, and certification of solar professionals and entrepreneurs across the globe, we are launching the New Energy Academy. The academy's goal is to support individuals who are looking to enter the clean energy sector as professionals or through launching clean energy businesses. For its pilot in the Philippines, the academy is offering training and certification for solar PV installation and design careers and enterprises.
We are now looking for a part-time Technical Training Coordinator based in the Philippines. The position will liaise directly with the students and learners and provide technical support to the Academy Manager.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Training Coordination
Coordinate with marketing on the lead generation
Coordinate with marketing on the NEA marketing needs
Develop practices to coordinate programs, projects and activities to ensure learning efficiency and increase training effectiveness.
Coordinate with training partners for the smooth implementation of checkpoints, practical training, and assessment
Coordinate with NEA internal partners in the implementation of NEA programs
Liaise external partners in delivering specific objectives in support to NEA projects
2. Learner Affairs and Trainee Management
Assess learners' learning needs and facilitate enrollment (if needed)
Provide technical support to learners
Address all learner's concerns
Support the marketing team in addressing learners' technical concerns raised in the NEA social media page
Monitor learner progress and identify strategies to support learners
Implement learner engagement activities in coordination with the NEA Manager
3. Maintain and/or Improve Learner Learning Experience
Responsible for the implementation of NEA training programs
Provide NEA orientation to Leads
Provide NEA onboarding to Enrollees
Develop or improve study guides for learners
Conceptualize and facilitate/conduct checkpoints with or without the support of training partners
Support training partner in the hands-on training and assessment
Continuously assess gaps between training and industry needs and identify solutions to fill the gaps.
Evaluate learner experience through learner feedback
4. Others
Perform other tasks related to NEA as assigned by the NEA Manager
Act as resource speaker on topics within the field of expertise (if needed)
The position will be part time (-4hrs per day) and mostly virtual with occasional domestic travel (in compliance with travel and pandemic restrictions) for physical training sessions and meetings. Duration is 1 year with possibility of extension.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
Must be passionate about energy, climate and education!
Minimum 2 years of experience in solar installation or in a technical role in a solar company
Entrepreneurial mindset & fast moving
Ability to work independently within a global team with various time zones
Professional fluency in Filipino and English is a must
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in organizing or supporting a technical training program
Experience with organizing physical and virtual events
Resourcefulness with the ability to come up with new ideas and concepts to support our mission in the academy
