Position Outline
The QA Analyst is an instrumental member of the engineering team, helping to ensure that our software solutions are fit for the end user's needs. As a QA Analyst you will work closely with the entire product and engineering team to review and understand the overall functional and non-functional requirements while keeping a user's perspective in mind.
Activities in this role will include understanding the user goals and technical challenges to facilitate a good dialogue about requirements before forming test cases, identifying defects and helping the team to drive them to resolution. Ideally, candidates will possess a drive for understanding the details in the system as it will allow them to predict and deflect complex problems before they reach production.
This role will focus on performing and educating the rest of the QA team on the more technical aspects of testing and QA across our full technology stack including web, Mulesoft and Salesforce.
Requirements
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The role as Technical Quality Assurance Analyst will include:
Understanding how the business works and the world of our operations and sales teams.
Reviewing user goals with our product teams and being part of the process shaping the quality of the actual requirements.
Planning and executing manual testing of APIs.
Scoping and performing regression testing of front-end applications and data based on API and/or infrastructure changes.
Reviewing and contributing to test automation at all levels (unit, integration, API and UI).
Contributing to load/volume testing activities.
Collaborating closely with product / business teams to reproduce, analyse and resolve problems.
Logging defects and tracking them through closure.
Reporting test results and keeping status of testing current in Jira.
Assisting the team in the resolution of production issue escalations.
Demonstrating a team approach to quality.
Recommending improvements to tools the company uses for software and system testing.
Capabilities & Experiences:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
More than 4 years testing software as part of a team.
Knowledge of modern testing methodologies.
Hands-on experience with test automation tools.
Hands-on experience with manual and automated testing of API's using tools such as Postman.
Good understanding of CI/CD tools and integrating test automation into the build pipleline is preferred.
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS) is preferred
Personal Attributes:
A chatty, friendly and smiley attitude that burns though online communication.
Strong attention to detail and enjoys making a list to strike out each point as you work your way though.
Will never hesitate to reach out if something seems wrong or does not make sense.
Enjoy diving into new areas, asking loads of questions to understand the complexity.
