The Technical Engineer or TechXpert will perform drop-related issue troubleshooting and repairs to resolve Cable TV/Broadband/In-house IP Network issues including FTTX or direct broadband systems. He/She will troubleshoot and rectify Premise Fiber Optic Network and structured cabling. He/She will perform network related functions such as forward and reverse sweeping for finding RF problems, leakage or noise detection, isolation and correction and high pass filter installation for broadband service areas.
Responsibilities:
Performs drop related issue troubleshooting and repair to immediately resolve CATV/Broadband/In House IP Network Issues including FTTx or direct broadband systems
Operates basic and advance CATV/IP/LAN/Optical test equipment such field intensity meter, sweep test equipment, leakage test equipment, megger, spectrum analyzer, QAM analyzer and other equipment required in the implementation of identified activities and programs.
Reports to duty supervisor if restoration would require intervention or assistance from other support groups such as cabling or construction
Performs temporary corrective remedies to facility breakdown if permanent resolution would exceed standard network fault restoration
Ensures that all activities are updated accurately and in real time through our existing workforce management tools and software
Attending drop network related problems such as permanent resolution of trouble prone areas where high-speed data signal outage, Wifi coverage, private network and Voip related concerns are recurring.
Performs ocular inspection as may be required by duty supervisor such as survey of cable lines for span sag, vertical clearance, kink or damage, status of other network electronics, wifi coverage validation, premise network structural and coaxial cabling.
Ensures replacement of equipment accessories observing original values and orientation; Ensures spare material and tools & equipment availability.
Prepares and submits to Duty Supervisor reports such as weekly material utilization sheet, material requisition slip, incident reports, daily trip ticket and accomplishment report.
Engage in ongoing education program provided by the company to keep one's level at the cutting edge of the industry
Must be a Licensed EE or ECE Graduate
With CISCO certification or any equivalent certificate
With at least 1 year relevant working experience in Cable, Telco environment
With technical skill set in CATV, IP or LAN/WAN Network
Knowledgeable on IP Network Systems
Computer literate and familiar with office applications
A team player, highly motivated, results oriented and attentive to details
Willing to work in varied shifts and remains on-call on emergencies
With professional Driver's License
