In partnership with People in Need and Entrepreneur du Monde a project in title of "Renewable Energy Access for Off-grid Communities and Households (REACH)" in 10 municipalities of Northern Samar was implemented. It is an ongoing initiative to reduce the vulnerability of poor rural communities to the adverse impact of climate change, through renewable energy. It does so by enhancing social welfare, disaster resilience and economic growth in the remote communities of Northern Samar through innovative, scalable, and sustainable renewable energy (RE) technologies and systems.
In support of our work and to improve our engagement in in Northern Samar, Philippines, Malteser International is looking for a
Technical Consultancy for the project "RENEWABLE ENERGY ACCESS FOR OFF-GRID COMMUNITIES AND HOUSEHOLDS (REACH)
Objectives
To achieve good quality results, the project seeks technical assistance and expertise of a consultant who can integrate renewable energy in disaster risks reduction handbook and can train MI staff and stakeholders.
Design, formulate and develop a supplemental handbook on Integrating Renewable Energy in MI's Inclusive DRRM Handbook
Conduct in house training for MI staff
Co-facilitate in the ICBDRRM with integration of RE solution for selected stakeholders and partners

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Agriculture, Physics, Environmental Engineer or other equivalent relevant field
At least 4 years' consultancy experience on RE and/or Disaster Risk Reduction project.
Strong technical skills and knowledge on RE facilitation
Good oral and technical writing skills
Consultant must know how to contextualize renewable technology projects within a local, national framework, and consider social, ethical and environmental impacts and consequences specifically off-grid areas
Carry out site visit and solar energy inspection in the community
Board passer/Civil Service Eligibility is an advantage
Desirable:
Previous work experience in the Philippines
Valid Business visa (facilitation for the application of a business visa possible)
