TAX MANAGER
The Tax Manager shall be responsible for developing and implementing tax strategies, practices and procedures to ensure Company's compliance with tax laws, regulations and requirements. He/she shall ensure timeliness, completeness and accuracy of filings, reports and financial transactions pertaining to taxes. He/she will also take the lead in tax audits and reviews, including coordination with tax authorities, consultants and internal colleagues.
Primary Duties and Accountabilities:
· Prepare the filing of statutory reports which include Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) tax returns & other requirements (e.g. annual Inventory Reports, etc.), annual audited financial statements to SEC, and other government-related filings/applications/renewals (e.g. business permit, etc.)
· Keep oneself up to date on new tax legislations and BIR regulations and ensure timely compliance to avoid tax risk, penalties and surcharges
· Support financial and tax audits, including documentation of filed returns & ensuring that documents are readily available and accessible at any point in time
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual tax reports
Determine potential tax savings, analyze tax-related issues, minimize exposures and suggest ways to improve profits
Keep track of industry trends and changes related to taxes
· Liaise with internal (sales, marketing and support groups) and external stakeholders (suppliers, agencies, auditors, BIR, etc.)
· Perform other related tasks and duties which may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relevant field
Minimum of 5 years work experience, with relevant knowledge in the areas of General Accounting & Taxation as a Tax Officer or similar role
CPA preferred
Competencies Required
· Strong General Accounting and Tax background, with experience in BIR tax audits
· Proficient in MS office applications, specially MS Excel
· SAP experience preferred
· Able to effectively interact with government agencies and auditors
· Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
· Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently
· Good communication skills, both verbal and written
· Able to work under minimum supervision
