Job Functions:
Compliance
Reviews tax returns and ensure tax compliance for all transactions as may be assigned from time to time (assignments are rotated from time to time to allow growth and learning within the Tax Dept.)
Handles compliance requirements for leasing company affiliates
Prepares financial entries for transactions handled
Prepares tax forecast for entity assigned, and communicates said forecast to Treasury Dept. for funding requirements
Leads the application for Mayor's Permits and BIR registrations, including application for series range for CAS-related forms and updates to existing permits
Supervises and monitors distribution of BIR Form 2307 to Vendors
Tax Audits
Liaises with the external auditors for tax audit requirements
Attends to the requirements of BIR examiners in the course of their investigation
Discusses/refutes preliminary findings, provides analysis and documents to counter the findings
Advocacy
Represents the company with various government agencies and local government units
Coordinates with other Nestle business units and/or departments, as may be necessary, for implementation of policy changes and for the effective and proper performance of work
Provides tax advice on queries from/issues raised by other departments
Tax Knowledge Management/Improvement
Reviews latest tax decisions by the Supreme Court, Court of Tax Appeals, BIR rulings, tax bulletins of retained counsel and auditors and other tax publications to determine applicability to and effect on the Company's operations
Periodically reviews the system, procedures and workflow in the Tax Dept. and recommends changes for improvements and simplifications when feasible
Others
Supervises annual transfer of non-current files to the Archives and coordinates with Administration Section destruction of archived files already beyond retention period
Other duties that may be assigned by the Department Head
Qualifications:
Preferably a CPA and a lawyer
At least 4 years in tax practice
Previous experience in a tax firm or manufacturing industry
Preferably with experience in handling tax investigations
Proficient in written and spoken English
Advanced skills in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
