Job Title: Junior Tax Associate
Role purpose
Research and write opinions on various tax and corporate issues as assigned. Perform corporate and other related tax works, including assisting in tax return preparation, tax compliance reviews, tax due diligence reviews, etc.
This role will work in a team to provide tax advisory and corporate services for a variety of local and multinational clients.
Principal accountabilities
Project involvement
Fieldwork and client interviews as assigned by the In-charge (Senior Associate/Manager/Partner)
Establishment of engagement documentation and working papers
Report writing subject for review by the In-charge
Assisting the In-charge in servicing the Firm's clients
Review of clients' tax filings and supporting documents
Preparation and/or filing of clients' tax returns
Carry out ad hoc requirements as may be reasonably required by the in-charge
Preparation of engagement letters and client acceptance documentation
Management
Must be professional
Must be organized
Communication and representation
Fluent in English, both written and oral communication
Must have confidence in communicating with other people
Must demonstrate strong team playing skills in all client and internal management dealings
Develop professional relationships with clients and within the Firm
Provide an efficient and proactive service to clients and their internal management to ensure that their needs are fully met
Undertake any training or development coordinated by the Firm
Willing and open to take on tasks and challenges provided by the In-charge
Technical knowledge and professional qualifications
Able to develop a clear understanding of business industries/processes, accounting transactions and relevant legislation
Good analytical skills
Good knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint/OneDrive
Good research skills
Educational and professional qualifications
Candidate must be a graduate of Bachelor Science in Accountancy at the minimum.
Proactive in improving their skills through training
Proactive in working towards a professional qualification
Must represent the Firm in a professional manner at all times through punctuality, appearance and presentation
