Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive analysis of financial data, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and general ledger accounts, to identify potential tax savings opportunities and risks.
Prepare and review accurate and timely tax returns, including but not limited to the following forms utilized in the Philippines:
a. BIR Form 1702 (Annual Income Tax Return for Corporations, Partnerships, and Other Non-Individual Taxpayers)
b. BIR Form 1601-C (Monthly Remittance Return of Income Taxes Withheld on Compensation)
c. BIR Form 0619-E (Monthly Remittance Return for Creditable Income Taxes Withheld-Expanded)
d; BIR Form 0619-F (Monthly Remittance Return for Final Tax)
e. BIR Form 1601EQ (Quarterly Remittance Return for Creditable Income Taxes Withheld - Expanded)
f. BIR Form 2550M (Monthly Value-Added Tax Declaration)
g. BIR Form 2550Q (Quarterly Value-Added Tax Return)
3. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, such as the finance, accounting, and legal teams, to gather necessary information for tax compliance and reporting purposes.
4. Stay abreast of changes in Philippine tax laws and regulations, and assess their impact on the company's tax obligations.
5. Provide guidance and strategic tax planning advice to management, aimed at minimizing tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations
6. Conduct in-depth research and analysis on complex tax issues, and prepare well-documented memos or reports outlining findings and recommendations.
7. Assist in responding to tax audits, inquiries, and notices from tax authorities, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
8. Identify opportunities for process improvements in tax-related activities, and recommend and implement appropriate changes.
9. Maintain accurate and organized tax records and documentation, ensuring adherence to record-keeping requirements.
10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on special projects and initiatives related to tax compliance, reporting, and planning, as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master's degree in Taxation or a relevant certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
Proven experience as a Tax Analyst or similar role, preferably in a multinational corporation or accounting firm.
Deep knowledge of Philippine tax laws, regulations, and procedures.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply complex tax regulations.
Proficiency in using tax software and accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
High ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality in handling sensitive tax information.
