About the Role
We are a dynamic Australian business seeking a highly skilled and versatile professional to provide essential tax and bookkeeping support. This part-time role is ideal for an AU-registered Tax Agent who also possesses strong bookkeeping skills. You will be the go-to expert for ensuring our tax compliance is meticulous and our financial records are impeccably maintained.The ideal candidate is an experienced, self-motivated individual who thrives in a remote setting and takes pride in delivering accuracy and clarity.Key ResponsibilitiesTax Agent DutiesPrepare and lodge accurate Business Activity Statements (BAS), Income Tax Returns, and other required tax filingsProvide strategic advice on tax planning, deductions, and compliance matters to optimize the companys positionEnsure all lodgments are submitted accurately and on time in accordance with Australian Tax Office (ATO) regulationsServe as the primary point of contact for ATO communications and represent the company if requiredBookkeeping DutiesMaintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using cloud-based accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB)Perform bank reconciliations, code expenses, and manage accounts payable/receivableProcess payroll and manage superannuation contributionsGenerate regular financial reports (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet) to provide clear insights intthe company's financial healthWho We Are Looking For (Essential Criteria)Current Registered Tax Agent with the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) of AustraliaProven experience preparing and lodging BAS and tax returns for Australian entitiesStrong knowledge of Australian bookkeeping principles and practicesHigh proficiency with major accounting software (preferably Xero)Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracyStrong communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts clearlySelf-directed, reliable, and able to manage a part-time workload effectively in a remote environment
