WSP, a world leading management and consultancy firm, currently have an exciting opportunity for a Tax Accountant to join their Enterprise Finance Team.
The Tax Accountant works with significant independence, but within established guidelines, producing and analysing financial and tax information.
What you'll do:
Supports the ME-Tax and Audit Team in direct and indirect tax filings by preparing tax calculations and reconciliations and checking material transactions against source documents (e.g., tax invoices).
Ensures tax reporting and related administrative activities are accomplished on time
Ensures final returns, working files and other related documents are stored on SharePoint and/or shared drive
Serve as point of contact of auditors for statutory and tax audit requirements of assigned entities
Ensure audit and related administrative activities, documents and reports are accomplished on time and free of error
Reconcile and understand differences between statutory and IFRS accounts and document the same
Ensure final accounts, working files and other related documents are stored on SharePoint/Shared Drive and determine if there are documents required by country law to be archived physically
Keep abreast of all regulatory changes (e.g., IFRS) impacting assigned entities
Where required or requested:
Flag going concern and/or equity issues (preferably before year end) and coordinate resolution with Group
Prepare analysis and schedules required during tax inspection of assigned entities
Assist in corporate income tax return preparation and/or filing
Calculate and/or review current and deferred tax calculations
Prepare books of accounts required to be registered with a tax authority
Updates tax and audit calendar/tracker
Performs other tasks assigned by the Tax Supervisor
What we'll love about you:
At least 2 to 3 years of relevant experience with a Big 4 accounting firm or a multinational organisation
Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Knowledge of Middle East tax laws and regulations, practices and procedures (preferred but not required)
Strong knowledge of accounting and finance
Highly analytical
Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
