Contribute to and maintain operational system standards, configurations and procedures. Amend server scripts, reports, system functionality Log all useful information, problem solving documentation in appropriate standards Investigate / troubleshoot issues and provide reports. Continuously improve service quality. Knowledge, Competencies & Skills Background in Linux/Unix Administration Experience in administration of application servers such as Apache, Tomcat. Knowledge in Unix scripting languages such as bash, bourne shell. Experience in relational databases eg Oracle. Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service Customer orientation, focus on delivering value to the customer Systematic approach to handling problems in a dynamic environment as part of a small team Ability to work in a multi-cultural company, fluent in English, both spoken and written Understanding and efficiency in collaboration, open communication and reaching out across functional borders.
