My Virtual Mate is a registered Australian company that helps businesses with business process outsourcing. Our mission is to make a positive change in our partners' business, which ultimately helps them gain more profits, and grow their business with truly talented staff.
Our client is an Australia based building management solutions provider specializing in Building Management Systems.
They are looking for a full-time Systems Developer to initially work on and develop, using industry proven methodologies, a range of custom Niagara based back-end and front-end components and widgets to enhance the company's feature-rich systems offerings
As an in-house expert in the Niagara Developer's Platform and software engineering processes, you will also assist fellow engineers and colleagues to become proficient in the use of our company-specific software modules such that they can be easily configured and deployed for their projects.
From time to time, you may be required to represent the company as an expert in Niagara-based Intelligent Systems, providing demonstrations to consultants and/or clients illustrating our competitive advantage versus competing Niagara based System-Integrators to add-value to our sales and tendering initiatives.
The SD will assist in ensuring the PRD (Products, Research & Development) department delivers on time, on quality and on budget.
Software development via Niagara 4 BAJA API, including Java/C++ back-end code, and front-end code utilising HTML5, Javascript, CSS, and other open web technologies, with IntelliJ IDEA as development environment.
Administer and maintain software versioning and backup/repository for company's Modules to ensure consistency, reliability and security.
Work with the CTO to plan deliverables and milestones in company's PRD and Innovation Roadmap using industry-standard methodologies.
Work with the CTO on design concepts, including back-end data structures, methods, front-end UI elements and interactive features.
Collaborate and coordinate with other PRD resources (internal and external) to design, implement, test and roll-out new or updated software.
Assist in producing formal internal documentation to train company's engineering on how to deploy new custom software modules.
Work on bespoke solutions where required for project-specific requests as outlined by PRJ/SVC departments in conjunction with the CTO.
Support PRJ and SVC departments with the company's Modules, such as fault finding, receiving bug reports and associated fixes as required.
Identify improvements to automate Niagara design or engineering processes to improve time efficiency, minimize human error, enhance design consistency and quality.
Work with the CTO to on Software Requirements Specifications for larger parallel product development projects (which may subsequently be developed by contracted 3rd party SW Developer).
Occasional sales and/or demo workshops/presentations to clients or consultants on company's Intelligent Systems and Products.
Niagara platform support to PRJ and SVC departments where appropriate.
Requirements
Bachelor of Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent degree
Relevant work experience, ideally with Tridium's Niagara API
Demonstrable Full Stack development capabilities and experience
Ability to work collaboratively, to interpret both customer and team leader briefs and ensuring high level results that accurate meet requirements
Adaptable and quick to learn new technologies and platforms
Excellent communication and organisation skills
Ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexities and deadlines
A strong desire to succeed and grow with the business
