Job Description
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
A member of the Global IT Infrastructure & Services Team, the selected candidate will be part of a team of IT specialists in charge of managing the company's Cloud infrastructure and their global IT Data Center operating 24x7 hosting business critical applications used by SGS affiliates worldwide.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Working in shifts covering 24x7 global IT operation
Perform system monitoring & troubleshooting
Manage Cloud infrastructure
Storage & LUN management
Virtual server management
Backup and Recovery
System's performance analysis
Proactive and corrective actions
Operating system, security patches
Management of data backup procedures
Define & maintain operational procedures
Follow change management procedures
Develop system management utilities
Deploy new releases of the application
Installing data patches
Work with the infrastructure and development team (Geneva and Manila based)
Complies with relevant Management Systems
Complies with the QHSE policies including but not limited to:
Demonstrates strong commitment to SGS QHSE Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions by participating in safety meetings, completing required training, intervening in unsafe situations, refusing unsafe work, and complying fully with all applicable laws and regulations related to QHSE.
Responds appropriately to emergency situations and assists other staff members in maintaining readiness to respond to emergencies within the workplace.
In accordance with the SGS QHSE Management System requirements, disposes of, or directs the disposal of, waste generated as a part of daily work performed in a safe manner and in compliance with all waste transportation and disposal regulations and requirements.
Reports all incidents (actual incidents and near misses) in accordance with the SGS Incident Reporting requirements.
Uses all equipment (including safety equipment) in the manner intended and reports any damaged / lost equipment to supervisor.
Maintain a safe and tidy worksite.
Maintains awareness of hazards and proposes controls to supervisor, QHSE Representatives or relevant client / site contact.
Actively participates in incident investigations and risk assessments as deemed necessary by SGS management.
Qualifications
PROFILE
Degree in computer science or related field. Exceptional candidates will be considered in the absence of a degree
Microsoft, LPI, VMWare, and/or Cloud Certification an advantage
Responsible & responsive; open minded, flexible, support minded, stress resistant, tenacious, dedicated, quality & objective driven

REQUIRED SKILLS
Experience/Technical Knowledge
At least 2 years practical experience in running complex Cloud and IT infrastructures
Experience in working in a multinational environment
Hardware:
X86_64 server architectures (Intel, AMD)
Network technologies and architecture
Software:
Solid working experience with Microsoft and/or Linux operating system environment
Proven expertise on either of the following web server technologies:
Microsoft IIS server,
Oracle Weblogic and IAS,
Tomcat
JBoss
Strong background on server virtualization technologies such as VMWare
Knowledgeable in using Enterprise Monitoring tools such as Check MK, Nagios and VMWare VCenter
Preferably with working experience on storage solutions such as NetApp, and backup solutions such as Commvault
Networking:
Practical experience in using TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, proxies, firewalls
Cloud:
Preferably with work experiences in managing and supporting systems, applications, and/or network in Amazon Web Services or Azure cloud platform
In addition, some or all of the following skills would constitute an advantage:
BigIP
Perl scripting
BASH and Powershell scipting
Relationships
Work closely with team members
Work closely with the helpdesk, network and development team to identify areas for improvements (infrastructure, application performance)
IT management team: to help improve the service.
Business: regular contacts with management team, country's IT teams and end-users
Work as project member on global infrastructure projects
