Your Role and Responsibilities
Thorough applied technical knowledge of the fundamental concepts and technologies associated with AIX Operating Systems (Hardware, Software). Capable of performing installation, implementation, customization, operation, recovery and performance tuning. Professional knowledge related to incumbent's position, team, and department. Requires ability to absorb professional knowledge quickly and develop skills.
IT Specialists in this job role will have expertise in one or more server technologies, includes different hardware architectures and operating systems. Typical examples of the deliverables are building proof-of-concept solutions with server system technology and architecting server solutions to address client requirements. IT Specialists in this job role work with products or solutions based on any vendor hardware and/or any vendor operating system software.
Platform Support
Maintain hardware and system software based on requirements specified by Customer and agreed by IBM.
Perform system operation and management according to standard operating procedure.
Monitor operating system level security patches
Install Customer's approved patches on agreed canged windows, as needed on a mutually agreed schedule.
Maintain audit records for privileged User ID approvals, verifications and revalidations.
Server Administration
Create and manage directory structures
Create and manage domains
Create, modify and delete users, user properties and user groups
Create login scripts
Create, modify and delete network shares
Assign and maintain user access rights as per policies defined and agreed upon with the Customer.
Assign and maintain space usage restrictions
Conduct action to restore server operating system in the event of a crash
Conduct action to help resolve server problems like system hang, hard disk crash, and others
Create new file systems and correct file system inconsistencies as and when required
Perform periodic system performance tuning as per Customer's policy
Perform Periodic schedule maintenance activity including, if required, restart of the systems.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot Servers HARDWARE/SOFTWARE problem which may require to travel to/fro between data centers.
To collaborate in on-call roster rotation to quickly respond to incidents and outages.
Perform RML (Required Maintenance Level) updates (Patching)
Support Internal Application Team
Install the different infrastructure Agents.
Perform Server Technical Specification (Hardening)
Perform Daily health Check
Professional knowledge related to incumbent's department or function.
Engaged as an independent professional. Ability to articulate and compare alternatives approaches. Negotiate with specified objectives
Recognize problems related to project objectives. Creativity and judgment applied to professional technical, or operational problems. Independently generates solutions, based on analytical skills & business knowledge. Challenge the validity of given procedures and processes to enhance and Works on special projects, or leads small teams, or manages routine technical/ operational activities or departments (national or international). Understands departmental mission and vision. Provides advice in technical/operational domain of specialization. Generally controls own work priorities and methods requiring trade-offs.
Improve or develop complementary adjustments /solutions.

Strong knowledge in All AIX version when it comes to administration and troubleshooting
VIOS provisioning
AIX tunning
LPAR provisioning
Pseries provisioning
SEA configuration
