While it is expected that the applicant has a broad experience in various systems administration categories, we are currently and specifically looking for a specialist on storage controller and NAS/SAN configurations such as: Dell EMC Storage Arrays, Synology DiskStation, TrueNAS etc., within a mostly on-premises virtualized environment (VMware ESXi). The candidate is expected to understand, propose, and implement the best RAID configurations for each location, as well as for the best storage allocation and planning, LUN , and knowledge of the most efficient solutions to achieve the fastest speeds in data transfers and backup jobs. The Storage Engineer will also devise plans for disaster recovery, as well as implementing backup, storing, and restoring procedures of data either locally or using cloud-based solutions. Duties & Responsibilities Storage and Backups: TrueNAS, Dell Storage Management, Synology DiskStation. Veeam Backup and Replication, any other online backup services, and DRP design). Bacula Backup system. Manage and monitor the systems-related infrastructure. Configure, implement, and document best practices on existing and new storage solutions. Diagnose and troubleshoot storage-related issues. Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies. Define, describe, and propose storage and backup strategies. Perform backup routine backup policy changes and ensure all backups are run and completed. Take ownership and proactively review and monitor a multiple solution environment to identify issues with system performance that could impact backup job processing. Communicate effectively with L1 and L2 IT support staff to ensure smooth operations in production. Provide Level 3 support in case of escalation. Conform to and enforce company IT security policies. Train and mentor the other IT team members. Document every project and task during and after completion Key Requirements: Qualifications Master's Degree in IT or equivalent technical experience. Minimum 5 years of IT technical experience in a similar role. High-level problem-solving skills. Proactive and autonomous in completing tasks. Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills. Good level of spoken and written English mandatory. Good communication skills (written, verbal, and face-to-face). Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-intensity work environment. Self-Starter and able to work independently. Required Technical skills MS Windows Server 2012-2019. (DNS, AD, DHCP, WSUS, WDS+MDT, IIS, RDP, GPOs). VMware vSphere Hypervisor 6.7/7. MS Active Directory. Networking skills (Understanding of Vlans, subnetting, iSCSI configurations, hardware related to NAS/SAN setups) Additional Technical skills Linux (Server and Client configuration, Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS). MS Office 365 (PowerShell management). Knowledgeable on Firewall, switch, router management (Palo Alto, Cisco, Dell, etc.). Understanding of IPsec, GRE, PPTP, OpenVPN. File transfer across long-distance (SFTP, Perforce, DFS, Aspera, Torrent, etc.). Knowledge in best practices and project management (ITIL, Agile, etc.).
