Your Role and Responsibilities
This specialty performs the role of System Database Administrator within the Oracle environment.
This role is performed by technical engineers responsible for the physical and technical aspects of a database systems. Responsibilities for this job role include, but are not limited to, installation and maintenance of the database system, installation of upgrades and patches, performance and capacity monitoring & management, and security compliance. Potential interaction with clients (internal or external) in order to understand and meet requirements for the delivery of services related to database products. The employee guides functional objectives or technologies.

Installation, Configuration, Upgrade, Migration and Troubleshooting
Database Security
High Availability Solution (RAC)
Install, Configure and Manage RAC and Non RAC databases (Silent or GUI based installation)
Build and manage DR using Dataguard for disaster recoverability.
Maintains the database health (i.e Instance, (ASM or non ASM) Disk Groups, Cluster, and Tablespaces.
Apply quarterly PSU/SPU oracle patches
Must know SQL fundamentals.
Reorganize database to reclaim fragmented space
Provides recommendation to optimize and tune database performance.
Automate database backups online (hot backup).
Implements incremental cumulative, compressed and encrypted database backup and recovery using Recovery Manager
Configure and performs Restore and Recovery thru RMAN
Automate tasks via Scheduler.
Project the database storage workload and effectively plan the disk space requirement (Capacity Planning).
Configure Oracle Net Environment.
Implements and enforces security for databases.
Creates Linux / Unix scripts
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
4-5 years extensive experience in Oracle database administration
Proven knowledge in Oracle installation and configuration, including RAC setup
Experience and knowledge in Oracle administration on Linux, UNIX and Windows environments
Proven knowledge of various backup procedures / strategies
Experience in sizing or crafting the Oracle databases
Experience in configuring and supporting Data Guard environment
Experience in developing scripts for various DBA activities and automations
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
4-5 years extensive experience in Oracle database administration
Proven knowledge in Oracle installation and configuration, including RAC setup
Experience and knowledge in Oracle administration on Linux, UNIX and Windows environments
Proven knowledge of various backup procedures / strategies
Experience in sizing or crafting the Oracle databases
Experience in configuring and supporting Data Guard environment
Experience in developing scripts for various DBA activities and automations
Amenable to work on a client-based schedule in any IBM locations and in client site (Makati City).
You should at least have a Bachelor's/College Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication) or equivalent.
