Job Overview:
You will be responsible for maintaining the overall Linux and OVM Infrastructure Technology of the client.
Job Objectives:
To provide root cause analysis, recommendations, and troubleshooting assistance to Application and OS-related issues (eg: application slowness, performance bottlenecks).
To manage, coordinate, and implement software/firmware upgrades and patches on managed servers.
To provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the Linux environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.
Participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
Ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values.
Experience in High availability set-up and clustering.
Monitor system performance and availability.
Job Specifications:
Have years of hands-on experience in Linux systems administration using the following software and equipment in a typical workday: Azure Cloud Administration or SUSE/Redhat System administration.
In-depth understanding of the Linux Operating System Architecture (Red Hat, Suse, Oracle, Debian, etc).
Well versed in TCP/IP and networking concept.
Extensive troubleshooting experience in the Linux environment.
Familiarity with VMWare/OVM and other virtualization concepts.
Experienced in Shell/Perl/Python or any scripting language.
Solid knowledge of different protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP, SNMP, and others.
