This role ensures timely availability of critical materials, cost efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards to support smooth laboratory operations.Key Responsibilities:Supply Chain Management
Develop and implement supply chain strategies to ensure the efficient sourcing, procurement, and delivery of laboratory supplies.
Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and evaluate vendor performance.
Monitor inventory levels and implement demand planning to prevent shortages or overstocking.
Coordinate with laboratory staff to forecast supply needs and ensure uninterrupted operations.
Procurement & Logistics
Source high-quality laboratory reagents, chemicals, consumables, and equipment at optimal costs.
Ensure timely procurement and delivery of supplies, maintaining accurate order tracking.
Manage logistics, shipping, and distribution to multiple laboratory locations if applicable.
Handle import/export compliance for regulated materials, ensuring adherence to legal requirements.
Inventory & Quality Control
Oversee inventory management systems, tracking stock levels, expirations, and reordering thresholds.
Implement quality control measures to ensure all supplies meet safety and regulatory standards.
Optimize storage solutions for hazardous materials, perishable reagents, and sensitive equipment.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure adherence to industry regulations (e.g., ISO, FDA, GMP, GLP) and internal laboratory policies.
Maintain accurate documentation of procurement records, supplier certifications, and safety data sheets (SDS).
Develop contingency plans for supply chain disruptions, mitigating risks to laboratory operations.
Process Optimization & Cost Efficiency
Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and automation in supply chain operations.
Collaborate with finance and operations teams to optimize budget allocation for laboratory supplies.
Implement and maintain digital inventory management and procurement systems.
QualificationsQualifications & Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related scientific field (e.g., Chemistry, Biology).
Experience: 5+ years in supply chain, procurement, or inventory management, preferably in a laboratory, healthcare, or pharmaceutical setting.
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of laboratory supplies, reagents, and equipment.
Proficiency in ERP systems, inventory management software, and procurement platforms.
Understanding of import/export regulations for laboratory materials.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
