Job Summary:
Oversees company's overall supply chain and logistics strategy and operations in order to maximize efficiency and productivity
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develops strategic plans for optimized productivity
• Reviews purchasing processes and creates innovative approaches for improvement
• Handles budgeting and costing and analysis of stocks movement and inventory level
• Develops and maintains detailed inventories of materials and supplies and maintains required quantity of supplies and materials needed for operation.
• Develops policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety
• Makes recommendations to ensure efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage of materials.
• Negotiates prices and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies.
• Acts as part of the team coordinating engineering changes, new product line development or extension to provide information and guidance on availability of cost of supplies and materials
• Monitors the performance of suppliers and assess their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
