Position Summary Digital is at the heart of consumer awareness and interaction (search, select, buy) in our category and plays a key role in delivering on our Mission and growth objectives. Towards this end, we seek to establish a leadership position in providing consumers with information and tools to enhance their vision. The DITAC team seeks a hands-on, full stack developer with deep technical expertise to lead our fast paced, agile team. The lead developer will work with the team to deliver solutions to execute DITAC priorities/initiatives. As the lead, h/she will be responsible for ensuring that the project is running timely and smoothly. They may be expected to act as a technical advisor for their own team and management, to provide alternative perspectives, and ensure that everyone is working towards a common goal.
Key Areas of Responsibilities Scope of the role:
The main scope of the role entails writing full stack software code, leading a teams of developers, and communicating with stakeholders, keeping them updated on the progress.
Specific Responsibilities of the Role Include: Rollup sleeves to implement user stories into features and/or oversee a team of developers (internal, offshore, or outsourced) to execute DITAC priorities. Engage in agile software development, rapid prototyping and delivery of solutions. Manage and accept code contributions (pull requests) from the development team. Serve as an interface between the programmers and management. Facilitate agile processes such as design sessions, stand-ups, retrospectives, and code reviews. Own the development plans and have supervisorial responsibilities in delegating work and ensuring that software projects come in on time and under budget. Act as a technical adviser to management and provide programming perspective on requirements. Oversee a development team of programmers, ensuring that everyone is working towards a common objective. Nurture a culture of team excellence with code reviews, openness and transparency, and close collaboration.
Candidate Profile Knowledge / Experience Divisional or BU Experience -
Experience in a solid development team, preferably in a global context.
Experience / Track Record -
Experience as a polyglot programmer who learns new frameworks and languages quickly.
Strong experience with consumer facing web development using JavaScript, JavaScript ES6, and/or Typescript and HTML / CSS.
Strong experience building web APIs with back end technologies such as Node. JS, C#, and JSON, and SQL.
Strong track record of leading software developers and delivering high quality solutions.
Proven history of writing high quality source code.
Demonstrates good stakeholder and client management skills.
Strong understanding and application of the most appropriate modern standards and practices.
Takes responsibility for coaching and guiding others.
Advises on the right way to apply standards and methods, ensuring compliance, and maintains technical responsibility for all the stages and iterations of a software development project.
Provides technical advice to stakeholders and sets the team-based standards for programming tools and techniques.
Able to coordinate build activities across systems and understands how to undertake and support integration testing activities.
Experience with Vue. JS and AWS preferred.
Industries Experience - IT, Business, Software Geographical Experience - Global experience highly preferred
Qualifications
Education / Qualification / Certification - Degree in IT, Software engineering, computer science preferred
Language - Excellent proficiency in English. Proficiency in other languages is a plus.
5-7 Years of experience
