We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented AU Tax Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparation and finalisation of individual tax returns for AU clients (mix of salaried employees and sole traders).

In this role you will be responsible for our individual tax returns pool, preparing working papers and working closely with clients to finalise their income tax affairs. Our clients come from a variety of backgrounds and industries and require attention from a passionate individual who can deliver the high quality service. This is semi-autonomous, work from home role.
Record Keeping: Analyse and organise clients' information in working papers, provide commentary and request additional information. Prepare returns for review by the supervisor.
Capacity Building: Supporting members of our team to learn about our clients and their circumstances, assist other team members if and when required.
Continuous Improvement: Recommend improvements to enhance accounting systems, processes and procedures. Research and personal development is a must
Main Duties:
Income Tax Returns
Timely, accurate and efficient entry of client data into software (Xero Tax)
Working to a tight deadline
Completing up to 4-5 returns per day
Strong attention to details
Self-motivation to constant improvement and personal growth
Understanding of CGT, GST, Foreign Income, Crypto, Rental & Business Schedules
Previous work experience dealing with dividends, investments, depreciation, Medicare entitlements
Proven ability to problem solve
Research & personal development in AU tax law
Constant learning and keep up to date with AU tax changes and legislation updates
Being able to adopt to new process and recommend improvement
Reporting any irregularities in data/process to management
Flexibility to work extended hours when necessary
Other ad hoc and admin duties

Skills Required:
Candidate must possess a Bachelor degree in Commerce/Business with an emphasis in Accounting, CPA or CA
Proficiency in Xero Tax
At least 2-3 years of experience with AU Individual Tax
Must be able to work effectively and independently in a very fast-paced, team oriented environment
Be customer-focused
Strong organisation skills
Analytical with advanced attention to details
Be adaptable to change and have the ability to problem-solve
Conscientious and hard-working, with the ability to work towards deadlines
