Position Responsibilities
Security is a core value at Deltek and safeguarding sensitive customer information is critical to our continued success. This position is responsible to help build a world-class program that embeds security into every aspect of the software development lifecycle; from threat modeling to deploying in a cloud environment, including CI/CD and application development process, automated application security testing, vulnerability scanning, and security operations. This person will maintain an ongoing security training and certification process for staff members.
Manage the time and priorities for Cloud Security Engineers across multiple time zones and countries
Close interaction with Deltek project managers and product managers to implement goals of the enterprise secure program
Design security features and security solutions for a wide range of Deltek applications and services
Collaborating with business unit managers to conduct security risk assessments
Managing and refining manual and automated application security testing processes leveraging SAST and DAST tools
Managing and refining manual and automated cloud and infrastructure security assessments processes leveraging modern technologies
Developing custom tools to test, monitor and enforce security across our environment
Researching security vulnerability disclosures and designing appropriate mitigations
Working with other Cloud and Engineering teams to identify vulnerabilities to facilitate patch management
Work within Agile Dev, DevOps, and Operations Teams to create security user stories
Developing and documenting cloud security policies
Developing and managing application framework and library roadmaps
Coordinate with Cloud Teams on infrastructure, database, and application hardening
Standardization of server images / containerization
Qualifications
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, with 5 years or related experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 8 years of related experience, or 10 years of equivalent experience.
Knowledge of cloud and application security including design, building, testing, and operation (DevSecOps)
Ability to work with a diverse team that is global and culturally diverse
Experience with providing project management for security projects.
Excellent ability to build relationships with developers, business managers, and cloud engineers
Ability to build and manage a team of cloud security engineers
Knowledge and experience with both automated tools and manual techniques used to identify security vulnerabilities and attack methods.
Strong multi-tasking abilities with attention to detail and the ability to dive deeply into issues
Knowledge of modern web applications and secure coding practices
Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and architecture and security implications
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong command of the English language
Comfortable carrying out complex tasks and projects to completion with minimal supervision
Able to interpret project and task requirements and select appropriate methodologies to fulfill them
Experience implementing application security frameworks such as CMMC, SAMM, or BSIMM
Knowledge of common web app and web services vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10)
Experience with vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and risk assessments
Experience implementing and working with defect trackers
Relevant professional certifications from industry organizations such as CompTIA, GIAC, ISC2, ISACA desired
Flexibility and interpersonal skills coupled with IT security background strongly preferred
