The Senior Bookkeeper has in-depth knowledge of Australian bookkeeping and will be an asset to the Accounting team. Duties will include but not limited to keeping and managing records of financial transactions for group companies and general clerical with project-based work.
Job Description:
Responsible for preparing BAS, bookkeeping procedures, and general administrative/ad hoc tasks
Deliver operating efficiencies through MYOB and BGL 360 other relevant accounting software systems
Retrieve data from various government portals and input them into required software to assist managers with various functions including tax returns, forecasts, and others.
Send out client bank feed data reports to the client as instructed every month
Assist with the preparation of Business Activity Statements (BAS)
Assist with the preparation of Instalment Activity Statements (IAS)
Perform regular, detailed audits to ensure accuracy in financial documents, expenditures and investments that is being worked on
Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
Organize and update financial records as needed (digital) for tax purposes
Stay informed on industry developments and changes in regulations
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or any relevant field
At least 5+ year experience in Australian accounting, and bookkeeping
Strong background using MYOB Software systems is required
Excellent working experience in using MYOB, BGL360, Microsoft Excel, and other Business, Payroll, & Accounting software
Familiarity or knowledge with Xero is a plus
Working knowledge in GST, BAS etc.
Familiarity with office management procedures and accounting principles
Excellent knowledge of MS Office Excel and office management software
Has proactive approach to business and technology
Excellent written and verbal English communication and interpersonal skills
