BASIC FUNCTION OF JOB
Senior BI Developer works with little supervision, preparing specifications, user requirements and programs of a highly technical or complex nature. Assists Business Analysts and other programmers with application or technical problems. Designs, develops, tests, debugs, and documents programs on large-scale, complex projects. The senior level position requires advanced technical knowledge in all areas of BI applications programming, system design and update, storage and retrieval methods, application performance optimization. This position makes decisions that can affect the overall outcome of the business or the company, in conjunction with Leads and technical Management.

Oversees implementation of project architecture, design, standards and processes, working with Lead and Manager
Researches, identifies and documents client's technical requirements
Designing, developing, troubleshooting, evaluating, deploying, and documenting data management and business intelligence systems, enabling stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions
Determines and identifies appropriate technologies to be used
Develops and documents the system architecture
Develops and documents the high-level technical design
Identifies project tasks and define task definitions
Assists in developing technical project schedules, plans task assignments and time estimates
Building secure, available, scalable, stable, and cost-effective data solutions using data storage technologies, distributed file system, data processing, and business intelligence best practices.
Working with business customers in understanding the business requirements and implementing solutions to support analytical and reporting needs.
Designs and builds complex BI reports, scorecards and dashboards, based on specifications as requested.
Harness creativity to render information useful in data storytelling.
Designing and planning for solutions in the various engineering subject areas as it relates to data storage and movement solutions: data warehousing, enterprise system data architecture, data design (e.g., Logical and Physical Modeling), data persistence technologies, data processing, data management, and data analysis.
Launch and support new data models that provide intuitive analytics to internal customers.
All aspects of the EDW: ETL, metadata layer, presentation layer, security/administration, user support and production support.
Develop and Integrate Advance Analytics Solutions using Machine Learning Algorithms
Deploy and Develop Data/Machine Learning Microservices solutions
Build Reports/Dashboards that enable end business users to make day-to-day decisions
Lead complex reporting projects
Automate processes using ETL and scripting best practices
Attends regular project technical team meetings
Provides senior project staff with full communication of project progress
Works with Lead and Manager to develop time estimates for project tasks
Develops code in keeping with established processes and standards
Debugs and unit tests modules before deployment to QA environment
Assists deployment staff by providing necessary documentation
Creates and maintains project documentation, in accordance with established standards
Designs and builds applications or models and structures data with languages as outlined
Perform code and application modifications for performance improvements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university and five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with a revision control system.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
The ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business/ professional journals, technical procedures, or regulations is necessary. The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, other employees is a plus.
4+ years of hands-on experience working with data tools within the Microsoft data platform with an demonstrated understanding of the following technologies:
SQL Server
Analysis Services and DAX
Reporting Services
1+ years of experience in three or more of the following technologies:
Self-Service BI Tools: Power BI
Azure: Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Warehouse and Azure Data Factory
Azure Big Data Technologies: Azure Data Lake and Azure Databricks
2+ years of experience in scripting ETL solutions using one of the following (Python, Java, PowerShell)
1+ years of experience using Linux through a terminal
Other Desired Qualifications:
Advanced degree in quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics).
Strong analytical and reasoning skills that result in clear technical execution.
Experience with SAP ERP (ECC, CRM7, C4C, BW, Data Services, Business Objects)
Skill at translating requirements into clean, efficient and quality code.
Experience with Qlik replicate and compose
Desire to learn new skills and grow competencies
Developers will pursue knowledge of the SAP system, since it is integral to the overall business flow at Insight. Possess strong creative problem-solving ability. Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and meet tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills. Ability and desire to thrive in a fast-paced, client-services environment.
