Role Purpose
The role holder will work within an Operations team such as data center. The role holder works with little to no supervision and is responsible for scheduling complex operations work ensuring work requests are completed to time and carrying out storage and security administration to operations run smoothly. The role holder will have specialist skills and knowledge and develop and motivate the team, ensuring that operations runs smoothly, acting as team manager as appropriate.
Key Accountabilities
Technical Direction. Provides input to the technical direction for site to provide support to management. Instigation of effectiveness and efficiency initiatives through analysis of the operation.
Scheduling & Automation. Schedules larger and more complex aspects of the workload, writing and testing complex production schedules, checking schedules and managing other ad-hoc work. Keeps schedules and documentation up to date and accurate to maintain service levels.
Undertakes development of operational utilities and ad-hoc projects to meet Service Levels.
Problem Solving. Records job changes and work requests through problem management systems ensuring effective change control. Deals with escalations from the team obtaining information required to diagnose and resolve a variety of complex technical and non-technical problems. Analyzes statistics and initiates action when necessary to improve system availability.
Storage Administration. Defines and implements effective backup, archive, recovery and recall policies including planning and monitoring migration projects and assessing long term requirements to meet service levels. May provides storage-related technical support to the operations team and technical support staff.
Security. Establishes and reviews security procedures for own area of responsibility ensuring that department is conformant to external standards, such as Data Centre Systems Security Policy and to clients' specific requirements. Carries out security administration of systems, (includes writing rules and controlling access, reviewing logs, violation reports, access privileges and passwords and reports anomalies) and recommends changes, to ensure site standards are maintained.
Training. Develops and implements training needs analysis to ensure the development of required skills for the business. May train other team members.
Professional Development. Takes the initiative to drive own technical and professional development to support the business requirement.

Perform any other related tasks assigned by the direct Supervisor or Manager.

Skills & Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in Operations & Maintenance
Mainly on Java with either VB.Net / C# / Cobol
DB either of the ff: Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLserver
With leadership skills and experience
With Application development (Design, Programming, Testing/Debugging) experience
Willing to be deployed either local or Japan short term (3-6 mos) / long term (1-2 yrs) as needed
