Job Description:
Role Overview and Objectives
The SQL DBA Administrator is responsible for providing proactive and reactive support services to maintain the availability and reliability of our customer's core infrastructure, and timely action of customer service requests while maintaining accurate and timely documentation in line with ITIL standards.
The core objectives and responsibilities of the SQL DBA Administrator include: * Ensure the delivery of a high-quality service offering to our clients with integrity, creativity & professionalism
Identify and initiate action for service improvement
Manage self-performance and support the team
Adhere to our company and client policies and procedures
Contribute to the financial viability of our business
Role Responsibilities
The SQL DBA Administrator is responsible for:
1.SLAs and Client focus
Ensure foreseeable issues are addressed in a proactive manner
Submit Client Reports on time (due on the 3rd business day of the new month) with high quality and accuracy
Participate in Client Monthly Meetings
Prepare and implement maintenance and security patches
Administration and management of infrastructure services, such as backups, restores, anti-virus, and anything specified in the Service Schedules for the customer you are providing a service for
Escalation of incidents and requests of 3rd party related issues as per the agreed process within specified SLA.
2. Service improvement
Initiate action on device performance and present report to client manager. These reports will usually include performance against SLA, stability of systems, trends, proactive tasks, and service improvement initiatives.
Make recommendations to the business for improvements in general when you deem fit, and if necessary fill in associated business case templates to sell your solutions to the business
Accept escalations of tasks from the business to ensure prompt resolution
Speak directly to end-users if a quicker resolution of an issue is needed
3.Self-development & leadership

Maintain environment documentation
Maintain the asset management or CMDB
Provide technical documentation to next-level support
Ensure standards are implemented, assist in the development of best-in-class processes
5. Financial viability
• Understand Service Schedules and In vs. Out of Scope activities • Tracking and logging of billable time into timesheets.
Requirements:
Knowledge
Exposure to implementing new systems within technology field with commercial experience
Exposure to DR methodologies and planning
Strong design, implementation, and administration knowledge of MSSQL Server from 2008R2 onwards
In-depth knowledge of all Microsoft SQL server
In-depth knowledge of Virtual & Cloud SQL technologies
Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, T-SQL and PowerShell/automation experience
Basic knowledge of Windows & Linux Server
VMware technologies
Backups solutions
Understand and practice ITIL methodology
Skills
Relationship building and maintenance

Problem resolution in high-pressure situation.
Written and verbal communication
Create accurate and concise technical documentation

Experience
Administering a production environment
3+ years' in SQL server experience in a corporate environment
On-call support
Database environment & administration.
VMWare environment & administration.
Cloud environment & administration.
Monitoring experience with 3rd party tools
Windows server management
Anti-virus management
Data Protector or similar backup tool
