Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world. The Electrical Engineer will be supporting the Global Technical Service Center (GTSC) in providing services to solar projects. This is a part-time, on-call position and willing to travel to project sites. The hourly pay range for this position, based on the market data, is Php300 to 450 (range varies depending on experience and qualifications). Key responsibilities: Coordinate with engineers in accomplishing projects such as earthwork, pavement systems, high and low voltage electrical systems, solar design. Assist in the preparation of Architect and Engineer (A&E) Statements of Work (SOWs) for client review and approval. May be asked to do engineering investigative services which include electrical power studies, water and wastewater flow and system testing and analysis, and HVAC testing, among others. Assist site leads in monitoring and/or management of new projects for construction, renovations and improvements to real property facilities and infrastructure. Perform detailed pre-construction site surveys in conjunction with the client site leads and various crafts. Part of the team that handles technical evaluation of construction bids; and, prepares or reviews as-built drawings at the end of construction. Ensure that work is within codes concerning health, safety and environment of real property facilities. Ensure timely and accurate preparation and disposition of the project's quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) documentation. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. Qualifications to be successful in the role: Must be a Registered Electrical Engineer. Must have a minimum of 4 years in solar farm design and field experience. Capable of investigative services including electric power distribution networks, power load determination, exterior electric, interior electric, fire alarm systems, and site lighting. With experience in power system analysis software. Knowledgeable in creating and modifying Architect and engineer Statements of Work. Knowledgeable in MS Office, project tracking programs (Microsoft Project), computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) programs (AutoCAD 3D), GIS, HVAC load calculation software, truss analysis software, Finite Element Structural Analysis software, cost estimating software, and other engineering calculation software packages. Must be able to operate and troubleshoot large format plotters. Familiarization with federal and local codes concerning health, safety and environment of real property facilities. Attention to detail is a must. Ability to interact with all levels of management. Must be committed to devoting sufficient time to this contract and associated task orders.
