Job Description
Exegy is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to work closely with other dedicated engineers in our Direct Market Access (DMA) Engineering team responsible for the development and delivery of new product developments, feature enhancements, and maintenance updates. The engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, documentation, and debugging of time-critical, multi-threaded, distributed applications. Successful candidates should have a strong work ethic, work well with others in team environments, and quickly learn complex concepts relating to Order Execution and Market Data processing systems.
You are ready to gain product and industry expertise in key areas of the trading systems domain and have experience in software engineering processes. You will work closely with experts to develop solutions and with QA engineers to ensure the high standard of product quality our customers expect.

Qualifications
Accountabilities
Design, implement, test, integrate, maintain, and support real-time, multi-threaded software components of Exegy products, services, and test suites.
Develop low-latency, reusable, and extensible market data and order execution normalization solutions.
Analyze and optimize product performance.
Provide support for escalated issues.
Interface with hardware and firmware engineers to create high-performance algorithms across multiple subsystems including custom and off-the-shelf hardware.
Execute the software engineering process, adhering to high standards of quality.
Peer code and design reviews, unit testing, and progress reporting.
We also require:
3+ years of experience in developing time-critical, low-latency, multi-threaded, modern C++ software.
Experience with other scripting and programming languages highly desired
3+ years of experience with development, debugging, and analysis tools.
Understanding of software engineering techniques and processes.
3+ years of Linux and/or Windows platform experience.
Capital-markets and/or Financial Services knowledge (Trading, Market Data, protocols) desired.
Practical Agile development knowledge and experience desired.
Experience with continuous integration / continuous delivery systems desired.
The position requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field, or the foreign equivalent degree.
