Software Engineer - devopsLiftango

We are looking for the right person to join a high performing engineering team that can hit the ground running as a Software Engineer. In this role you will hit the ground running joining our high performing engineering team! You will be a critical contributor to delivering quality products to high profile and global projects.
You will succeed in this role if you find focus in fast-paced environments; you have a startup mindset and have a keen interest in maintaining and improving the development lifecycle for the Liftango Engineering team. Helping us to deliver better and faster. This spans from building custom internal tooling, CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure management (AWS), source control and helping strengthen security. You will be responsible producing documentation that allows our Engineers to understand and use these systems with ease.

What you'll do day to day:
Designing and building tooling for the Engineering and Data Science teams
Write code that helps the team integrate with infrastructure
Mange our AWS Infrastructure through Terraform and other tooling
Simplify development, deployment, and monitoring processes
Help in the design of approaches for scaling our systems
Help improve our infrastructure security
Communicating with the rest of the Engineering team to identify key areas of improvement
Plan out and document new features in Confluence
Build backend services, data models etc.
Create release candidate branches, deploy to Staging and UAT servers
Review and manage code reviews and PR's through bitbucket
Work with our technically capable support team to diagnose issues
Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in relevant field, and/or equivalent experience in relevant roles
Experience with CI/CD Pipelines and deployment processes
Experience with internal tooling, infrastructure or developer productivity
2+ years in NodeJS / Typescript or similar languages
Experience with Git
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Passion and enthusiasm for improving the developer experience through infrastructure and tooling
Self-driven and ability to take ownership over projects
Nice to have:
Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL Databases
Experience with Jira or similar project management software
Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools
