About the Software Development Team Lead:
In this business critical role, you will be responsible for leading a team for development, administration and maintenance of various tools created or adopted by the team.
Key Responsibilities:
Report to the Department Manager in a key position within the technology operations group. You will work with other team leads in SSE to progress departmental goals
Provide technical leadership to a team of developers
Assist developers on new modules development as well as enhancements and defects fixing, development of new features and code review
Work with various teams to analyse and design new modules, facilitate communication between development and other teams
Provide estimates and plan development of new features
Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and new technologies and presenting these for architectural review
Manage and prioritise tasks and track team efforts using Jira, Confluence and other project management tools
Proactive attitude and willingness to put forth suggestions for constructive improvement in provision of service
To succeed in the Softawre Development Team Lead, you will need to have the ability to work effectively with professionals in the internal matrix, has excellent communication skills, has the leadership skills, has accountability, and can make responsible decisions.
Key Requirements:
Seven or more years of experience in .Net Development Experience
Two or more years of experience leading development teams
Knowledge of RDBMS including SQL Server and PL/SQL
Experience with software engineering and requirements analysis
Experience working with multiple projects/tasks and ability to prioritise on the fly
Excellent collaboration and teamwork, ability to lead by example, mentor team members and identify knowledge and skill gaps
Experience working with geographically dispersed teams
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with management (Office/Visio, etc.)
Self-motivated, innovative and analytical with a strong attention to detail
Able to think creatively and propose options/solutions to challenges
