About the Software Development Lead Role:
In this business critical role, you will lead a new in-house development team focused on creating full-stack JavaScript solutions for our global eLearning platforms. The successful candidate may help hire and lead a new team of 2 full-stack JavaScript developers to cater to the needs of organisation's services.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and develop a full-stack JavaScript development team
Develop and maintain complex, and feature-rich web services and applications with JavaScript
Set up and lead an automated, continuous delivery pipeline
Set up required tooling/process - including code management and deployment
Develop solutions based upon architectural principles and guidance
Develop solutions that maximise the use of Amazon AWS partner agreement
Create, support and maintain Web Services and REST APIs
Set up and lead agile development practices
Mentor the more junior members of the team
Collaborate with the Head of Solutions Architecture to understand the strategic vision and architectural landscape and work within a cross-functional team including design, UX, architects, other development teams, QA and business stakeholders
Lead and direct the team in the use of new technology and tools
To succeed in the Software Development Lead, you will need to have the ability to work effectively with professionals in the internal matrix, have excellent communication skills, leadership skills, accountability, and can make responsible decisions.
Key Requirements:
Five or more years of experience in full-stack JavaScript development
Three or more years of experience with at least two of the following: REACT, Angular, Vue, or Ember, NodeJS, AdonisJS, GraphQL, NuxtJS, TypeScript
Extensive software engineering experience for web-based applications in a fast-paced environment
Experience in leading a team of developers
Experience in Agile development whether it may be Scrum, Scrumban and/or Kanban
Experience in managing and maintaining Web Services and APIs
Very strong HTML5, and CSS skills
Ability to research new technologies and understand technical specifications
Experience in developing responsive web apps that work on a range of devices
An understanding of software development approaches and technologies
Understands how modern web applications work, the available architectures and how content can integrate with different systems
Good team player, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to stay open-minded, and listen to feedback from across the business to enable continuous improvement
