General Summary:
The SDET is responsible for designing and creating testing tasks and focuses on the testability, robustness, and performance of production software. SDET should be test professional with advanced programming skills who can also create automation testing tools and frameworks to assist the manual testing process.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Setting up, maintaining, and performing test automation frameworks on multiple application platforms, such as Mobile, Desktop, and Web, and building test scenarios and acceptance tests.
Create/update/execute automated test scripts for regression testing using various automated tools
Run backend processes for the application (start/stopping servers, running batch jobs, review log files)
Review system requirements
Work with developers to resolve system issues and convey business needs accordingly
Work with business users to clarify their needs
Be able to run queries on the database to verify data integrity utilizing more than one tool
Development, monitoring and report of test metrics
Job Specifications:
BA/BS in computer related field or equivalent experience or computer certifications.
3-5 years of tester experience
Excellent designing and programming skills.
Knowledge of programming languages and process management methodology.
Knowledge of test methodologies and their corresponding tools.
Exposure to Behavior Driven Development and experience in programming and testing.
Experience creating/updating /executing automated test scripts for regression testing using various automated tools
Be able to write SQL queries to validate the results with database queries
Development, monitoring and report of test metrics experience
Knowledge/ Experience of 3-5 years with testing in a Web environment
Knowledge of Web Browsers, Common Error Codes and their meanings
Ability to write and design Test Scripts
Experience with Automated Testing Tools
Experience with Load Testing Tools
Experience with Automated Testing for Web Based UI
Skills with problem solving in a technical environment.
Comfortable with technical writing or at least creating basic documentation
